Why Appalachian Christian School
The Mission
ACS is a caring Christ-centered institution that partners with parents in the training of students to love God with their heart, soul, mind, and strength; to equip them according to the foundational knowledge and wisdom contained in God’s Word; to be servant leaders who follow God’s leading and purpose for their life.
The Vision
ACS seeks to create an environment where students experience a personal relationship with God which results in a desire to know and understand God’s Word. Through the revealed word of God, students learn to walk in His ways by modeling personal prayer and devotion, obedience to God’s laws, Christ-like character, and right relationships with others; so that God is glorified through the service of our graduate leaders.
Our Core Values
ACS is an independent non-denominational ministry. Its purpose is to provide a Bible-based curriculum taught in a Christ-centered environment. The focus on spiritual and academic disciplines is intended to develop students into life-long learners who are devoted followers of Christ.
Emphasis will be placed on Christian conduct and values that will aid students in making wise life choices. Christian decision-making, logical thinking skills, and creative thinking will be used to help students reach their potential and develop a Christ-like self-image.
Finally, students will be led to develop a personal relationship with Jesus through daily prayer and Bible study, to find and do God’s will, to discover their individual gifts, and to enhance their abilities in such a way that would be pleasing to God.
Our Promise
ACS realizes that its program cannot be successful without the support and involvement of its parents. The school will serve as a bridge to connect to help support the Christian home. We feel it is important that the school and parents partner in a spirit of cooperation that will benefit both the children and the community. The school’s purpose is not to replace the home but to serve as a resource and to provide guidance for parents in the training of their children to be Christ-like leaders in their communities.
